Adella was born on October 4, 1924 to Henry and Regina (Schaeffer) Oswald on the family farm southeast of Menno. She was baptized at Zion Evangelical Church on February 15, 1925 by Rev. Hoefs and confirmed on June 8, 1941 by Rev. Elgen Boegler. She attended Oswald School District 56 through the 8th grade and went on to graduate from Menno High School. Adella taught school for a short time after graduation.
On October 12, 1944 Adella was married to Richard E. Auch by Rev. Lyle Krueger at Zion Evangelical Church. Together they farmed and had one son, Terry. Adella worked at the Open Door Cafe, Menno-Olivet Care Center in the kitchen, and cleaned at the City of Menno and Menno Post Office for many years. She was a member of Zion Reformed Church in Menno. Adella enjoyed helping on the farm, sewing, gardening, cooking, and baking. She was especially known for her pies and cheese pockets. She loved spending time with her family and was always very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Adella was blessed to be able to live on her own until moving into the Menno-Olivet Care Center in January 2016. She and her family were very thankful for the care that she received there.
Grateful for having shared her life is her son, Terry and his wife Marion of Menno, SD; two grandchildren, Kevin Auch and his wife Brenda of Freeman, SD and Kristi and her husband Corey Stahl of Freeman, SD; five great grandchildren, Kaylee, Paige and Tannen Auch and Brandon and Blake Stahl; two sisters, Hulda Auch and Leona Streyle of Menno, SD; brother-in-law, Edwin Auch of Menno, SD; sisters-in-law, Luella Auch of Menno, SD and Alvina Auch of Lesterville, SD.
Adella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; brothers, Edmund and Elmer (Lora) Oswald; sisters, Edna (Albert) Oswald, Ardena Oswald, Viola (Ralph) Tipple, Martha (Art) Mettler, Elnora (Gust) Schultz, Elda (Ervin) Schaeffer and brothers and sisters-in-law; Harold (Olinda) Auch, Ervin (Alitha) Auch, Arnold (Betty) Auch, Eugene Auch, Ruth (Phillip) Lang, Esther (George) Jantzen, Ella Auch, and Robert Auch.
