KLOUCEK ANN MARIE

Ann Marie Kloucek, age 95 of Tabor, SD passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Tyndall Good Samaritan Society, Tyndall, SD.  Visitations will be Sunday, March 3 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a 7:00 prayer service all at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Monday, March 4 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor with Fr. Thi Pham officiating. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Tabor. Pallbearers will be Ann Marie’s grandchildren: Barb Olbertson, Sherri Koletzky, Audrey Fuks, Scott Kloucek, Andrew Kloucek, and Megan Campbell.

Ann Marie Kloucek was born on August 11, 1928, in Tabor, South Dakota, to Michael and Frances (Walloch) Hale. She grew up on a farm east of Tabor. Ann Marie attend St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. On November 25, 1947, Ann Marie married Thomas Kloucek at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. They lived on a farm north of Tabor where together they milked cows, raised cattle, hogs, chickens, and ducks, and raised their family.

Ann Marie was an avid gardener. She loved to bake. There were always cookies, cakes, pies, or kolaches (or all of the above!) to eat when her children would come home from school or when her grandchildren came to visit grandma and grandpa. Tom and Ann Marie retired in 1987 and moved into town in Tabor, where Ann Marie continued to garden and bake. She was also a custodian at CorTrust Bank in Tabor. Ann Marie served on the Parish Council as officer of the Altar & Rosary Society and the Czech Heritage Club. Tom and Ann loved playing cards and dancing. We are sure Dad greeted Mom with his dancing shoes on.

Ann Marie is survived by her sons David (Carol) Kloucek, Tabor, SD, James Kloucek, Tabor, SD, Jerome Kloucek, Sioux Falls, SD, her daughter Diane (Thomas) Fuks, Yankton, SD, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. Ann Marie was preceded in death by her husband Tom in 2000, her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, three sisters, two brothers, twin daughters, and two grandsons.
