Arlena I. Hauck, age 95 of Menno, SD went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 09, 2025 at Diamond Care Center, Bridgewater, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Peace Christian Reformed Church in Menno with Rev. Ryan VanderWeees officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 pm, Friday September 12, 2025 at Peace Christian Reformed Church in Menno. Burial will be at the Menno Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.okfhc.com. Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Arlena Irene Roduner was born July 30, 1930, on a farm in Alpena, SD to Karl and Magdalena (Mettler) Roduner and was one of six children. She was baptized October 26, 1930, and confirmed on July 9, 1944, in Alpena, SD by Rev. H.K. Hartmann. She attended grade school in Buffalo County and graduated at Wessington Springs High School in 1948. Arlena’s secondary education began in Huron, SD and continued at Southern State Teachers College at Springfield, SD where she studied elementary education. She then taught country school and at Menno Public School for ten years. While teaching in Menno, SD, she met the love of her life Alfred A. Hauck.

Arlena was married on April 14, 1963, to Alfred Alvin Hauck at Salem Reformed Church in Menno by Rev. Roemer. Arlena and Alfred farmed all their days until they moved to Menno in 1997 to retire.

Arlena was a member of Peace Christian Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She belonged to the Ladies Aide, Bible Study and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Arlena enjoyed tending her flowers and working in the garden. She made a mean dill pickle that was loved by family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking coconut cream, strawberry and rhubarb pies and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Arlena and Alfred enjoyed a memorable European trip in 1998.

Arlena is lovingly remembered by her daughter Julie (Steve) Elling of Orlando, FL, her son Terry and friend Denise Eckoldt of Bridgewater, SD, her daughter-in-love Lynette Hauck and friend Russ Gardener of Marion, SD, her grandchildren Jordan (Jolie Borntrager) Hauck, James Elling, Mackenzie and Madison Hauck. Sisters Luella Teveldal and Leona Glaser. Sisters-in-law JoAnn (Donnie) Frasch; Marilee Hauck, brothers-in-law Verlyn Hauck, Larry (Marilyn) Hauck and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Arlena in rest was her husband Alfred A. Hauck on October 18, 2020, her parents Karl and Magdalena Roduner; brothers Raymond (Doris) Roduner, Melvin (Evelyn) Roduner and sisters Lenora (Lyle) Pawlowski: brothers-in-law Leonard Teveldal and Luther Glaser; mother and father-in-law August J. and Magdalina (Koerner) Hauck; sisters-in-law Viola (Melford) Maas, Luella (Lloyd) Haarberg, Verletta (Garrett) Kaufman, Eleanora (Randy) Quast and Sharon Hauck, brothers-in-law Raymond (Florence) Hauck, Clarence Hauck and Milo Hauck.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Grandview Assisted Living and Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater for their care and compassion.
