Arlene Goossen, 98, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House in Yankton, South Dakota. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11:00 am. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com . Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home of Yankton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arlene was born to Peter and Sara Goossen on September 24, 1925, in Windom, Minnesota. When she was very young, she came to live with John and Ida West and their two sons, Norman and John Paul in Aberdeen. Arlene was a niece of Ida’s. Arlene worked at Sears and Roebuck in Aberdeen as an accountant and bookkeeper for 47 years.
