HEMMINGSON AUDREY

Audrey Hemmingson, age 89 of Centerville, SD passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home, Viborg, SD.  Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, SD with Rev. Audrey Marie Hemmingson was born in Viborg, SD as an only child to Peter and Metha (Nelson) Jacobson. She attended school in Wakonda, SD. Audrey and Richard Hemmingson were united in marriage on December 16, 1952, and lived near Wakonda where they began farming. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She loved cooking big dinners on holidays and spending time with her family. She spent many hours sewing clothes and even small doll clothes for her daughter one Christmas.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, Michael (Carol) Hemmingson of Centerville, SD; her daughter Zoe Ann (Laddie) Kozak of Estherville, IA; 5 grandchildren; Beck Van Beek, Ryan Hemmingson, Derek Morris, Naomi Schock, Sarah Kozak, and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard.
