Boyd Hemmingson, age 79 passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his home in Yankton. Memorial services will be 5:30 PM, Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton with Rev. Dani Jo Ninke officiating. Military rites by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post #791 Honor Guard, Yankton and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Boyd is survived by his daughter, Cathy Hemmingson of Yankton, SD; grandchildren: Beth Wade, Tara Wade and Matthew Hemmingson; 10 great grandchildren; his sister, Iris Lamb; his brother, Dave Hemmingson and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo “BJ”, his parents, Laura and Martin Hemmingson, sister, Marion Orr, and brother, Richard Hemmingson.
