Brian L. Larsen, age 56 of Yankton, SD, passed away Friday, July 01, 2016 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD after a short battle with cancer.

Brian L. Larsen was born July 18, 1959 in Yankton, SD to Richard and Mary Ann (Pick) Larsen. His early childhood years were spent in Randolph, NE, Los Angeles, CA and Yankton, SD. He attended school in Yankton and graduated from YHS in 1978. After graduation Brain attended the School of Associated Arts in Minneapolis, MN. While living in Minnesota Brian lived with friends on a WWII Subchaser docked on the Mississippi River. Upon his return to Yankton, Brian worked at various part time jobs including ServiceMaster, City of Yankton, Bomgaars and Larsen Carpet helping his dad and later his brother in their family business. His most recent "job" was checking up on family and friends daily and making sure everyone was doing OK.

Anyone who met Brian was immediately his friend. His smile was never ending and he could strike up a conversation with anyone he ran into. Brian enjoyed fishing, driving around town waving at everyone he knew and collecting treasures such as record albums, art books, collectable paper weights, concert t-shirts and many other items. Brian will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched in so many ways.

Survivors include his mother Mary Ann Larsen, brothers Steve (Kim) Larsen and Kevin Larsen (Brenda Brandt) and sister-in-law Patricia Larsen all of Yankton, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and Nikki his ornery dog.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Richard Larsen and his brother Verlin Larsen.
