Cheryl Mae Snoozy, age 63 of Yankton, SD passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, August 29, 2025. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory, Yankton, SD with Rev. Erin Mulberry officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Gayville Cemetery, Gayville, SD. She was born on Dec 26, 1961 to Afred and Alice (Pokorney) Snoozy in Yankton, SD. She went to Yankton high school, but didn't have the chance to graduate due to the tragic loss of her father. She moved to Evansville Indiana with her mother. In her time in Indiana, she worked many jobs. She was married, and gave birth to her son. At age 30 she returned to Yankton, SD. She began working at the Yankton Press and Dakotan where she worked in the printing press room until they shut down.
She loved animals and had many pets, she donated to many charities her favorite being the humane society. She enjoyed arts and crafts, puzzles, was an amazing seamstress and was kind and giving to everyone.
She is survived by her son William Snoozy (Melanie) of Watertown, SD. Siblings: John (Karla) Snoozy of Lincoln, NE; David Snoozy (Jessica) of Yankton, SD. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tayla and Azylinn Snoozy of Watertown, SD; along with 3 nephews and 5 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Alice (Pokorney) Snoozy; Her sister Roxanne Snoozy; and her many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
