Daniel Lee Haubrick, 74, of Yankton, SD, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2025 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Daniel’s memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday August 29 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton with visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home. Dan was born on April 16, 1951, in Willmar, Minnesota. Throughout his life, he worked in many fields, including furniture sales, farming, insurance, security, and with the U.S. Census Bureau. No matter the role, Dan brought hard work, dedication, and a steady spirit.

Outside of work, Dan’s true joys were found in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer and a proud member of Lakeview Golf Course in Crofton, Nebraska. He never passed up a good card game—whether canasta, pinochle, or any other—and loved fishing and taking drives with his dog, Oliver, just to enjoy the day. Both Dan and Oliver are now reunited. His humor, warmth, and love of family and friends will be deeply missed.

Dan married, Shirley, on February 29, 1980, and together they celebrated 44 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children Kevin Haubrick (Michael Contreras) of Houston, Texas, and Sara Willrodt (David Willrodt) of Chamberlain, South Dakota; and his beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Haubrick (19) and Anthony Contreras (13). He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and James Haubrick, both of the Minneapolis area.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
