Daryl "Vince" Kirschenman

Daryl “Vince” Kirschenman, age 74, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, July 27, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Bierwagen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday.

Vince was born on July 10, 1952, to Elton Kirschenman and Joyce Wedmore. He grew up on the family farm near Menno, South Dakota, where he learned the value of hard work, family, and an appreciation for the outdoors. He graduated from Menno High School and carried those small-town values with him throughout his life.

On March 4, 1978, Vince married Judy Myers, the love of his life. They spent 40 years together before Judy's passing in 2018. In 1982, they welcomed their daughter, Sara, and soon after made their home in Yankton. Yankton remained home for the rest of Vince's life, where he and Judy built a life filled with family, hard work, and lasting friendships.

Vince was a skilled mason who took great pride in his work. He spent many years with Pasco Masonry and later worked for Schieffer Masonry & Concrete. Through his craftsmanship and dedication, he left his mark on countless homes and projects throughout the area.

Outside of work, Vince enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, deer hunting, and pheasant hunting and rarely passed up an opportunity to spend time outdoors. For many years, he was also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast who appreciated the freedom of the open road.

More than anything, Vince loved his family. He was never one to seek attention or make a fuss. Instead, he showed his love in quiet and subtle ways through his steady presence, unwavering support, and the countless things he did for those he cared about. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow. Those who knew him best understood that while he may not have always said much, his love was constant and deeply felt.

Vince was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Kirschenman; infant daughter; his parents, Elton and Joyce Kirschenman; his grandson, Aiden Crisman; and his niece, Caitlin Kirschenman.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara (Aaron) Crisman; grandchildren: Kaylin, Hannah, and Liam; brothers, Robert (Angie) Kirschenman and Curt (Cindy) Kirschenman; sister, Joleen Kirschenman; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends.

The family finds comfort in knowing Vince is reunited with Judy and those who went before him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory lives on in the lives he touched, the work he built, and the family he loved so dearly.
