TEESLINK, DICK LEE
Dick was born July 5, 1942 to Emil and Esther (Jurczewsky) Teeslink in Geddes, SD. He was the second of 13 children. He lived in Platte until 1964 when he married Patricia L. Haugom on September 13, 1964 in Chamberlain SD. To this union two children were born, Richard Teeslink, Jr and Laura Teeslink.
Over the years Dick held many positions in sales and construction. In 1972 he moved the family from Sioux Falls, SD to Luverne, MN where he and Pat owned and operated the Cardinal Drive Inn. In 1977 he bought the Mint Lounge and Restaurant in Yankton, SD. He added catering to the business and catered many weddings, picnics, and events. The Mint became famous for their broasted chicken and Prime Rib! He also started Dick's Vending which he continued to run after selling the Mint in 1998. Upon retirement, Dick and Pat spent many winters in Mission, TX where Dick enjoyed helping other park residents with odd jobs and small construction projects. In 2008 they purchased a cabin in the Black Hills on Rapid Creek and enjoyed spending as much time there as possible. He enjoyed time with his family, especially his three grandsons! He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, coffee with friends, riding his motorcycle and reading.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Patricia; son, Richard L. Teeslink (Dick Jr.) of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Laura Jo Teeslink of Yankton, SD and 3 grandsons: Dylan Hauger, Matthew Teeslink and Wyatt Hauger. He is also survived by his brother, Donald (Kathy) Teeslink of Platte, SD; his sisters: Beverly Demmon of Sedro Woolley, WA, Sharon (Randy) Foxley of Platte, SD, Margaret (John) Johnson of Platte, SD, Charlene De Groot of Platte, SD, Darlene Koopal of Platte, SD, Debra (Dave) Fink of Plankinton, SD and Shelley (Doug) Meyerink of Platte, SD. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Doug (Bonnie) Haugom, Jim (Patty) Haugom, Jack Pranger and Tom Gott.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Esther Teeslink; his mother and father-in-law, Alvin and Maxine Haugom; his brother, Robert Teeslink and his sisters, Carol Lucas, Donna Pranger and Judy Gott.
