Duane Harold Hunter, age 79 of Yankton passed away unexpected at his home. A Celebration of Duane’s Life will be at a later date.

Duane was born on September 25, 1937 in Bedford, IA to Reynold and Mary (Longfellow) Hunter. After graduation from High School, Duane enlisted in the United States Navy serving 6 years. On August 25, 1977, he married Carolyn Sandberg at Faith Presbyterian Church in LaVista, NE. They moved to Yankton in the fall of 2000.

Duane is survived by his daughters, Sheryl (Don) Maliha of Leigh, NE, and Dawn (John) Demarr of Omaha, NE; son, Dallas (Kathy) Ditter of Ellis, KS; his brother, John (Vida) Hunter of Merriam, KS; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Duane is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn “CJ” Hunter and his parents, Reynold and Mary Hunter.
