Elaine F. McClain, age 91 of Yankton, SD passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Larry Regynski officiating.  Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Visitations will be 5 to 7 PM, Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD with a rosary at 6:45 PM followed by a Scripture service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.  On line condolences may be sent at: www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.

Elaine was born October 12, 1925 in Hammond, IN to Lare & Genevieve (Walkirez) Freyer.  She graduated from St. Louis Institute of Music with a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano-Pedagogy.  She married Floyd A. McClain on June 11, 1953 in Alva, OK.  Elaine was a piano teacher and then later a tutor in the Yankton Public School System.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish Choir and a member of the Women’s Club.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Kevin McClain of Yankton, SD and Collin (Nancy) McClain of Saline, MI, daughter, Maureen (Bill) Fuller of Yukon, OK and four grandchildren:  Amanda, Melanie, Jennica and Kellen.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; brother, Warren; sister, Marion; all cousins and one nephew.
