Fern E. Wedmore, age 99 of Yankton, SD passed away early Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Onsite Crematory, Yankton, SD with Perry Pearson and Gage Houdek officiating. Fern Wedmore, Yankton, SD, passed away on November 11, 2025 at Majestic Bluffs. She was born on July 6, 1926 to Fred and Bertha (Sammon) Wedmore southeast of Menno, SD.

Fern attended Schaeffer Elementary School and was employed by Dale Electronics in Yankton until her retirement. She lived on the farm near Menno until moving to Yankton after her father passed. She lived in Yankton until August of 2024 when she moved to Majestic Bluffs.

Fern is survived by her many nieces and nephews: Robert (Angie) Kirschenman, Yankton, SD; Daryl Kirschenman, Yankton, SD; Joleen Kirschenman, Chicago, IL; Curt (Cindy) Kirschenman, Omaha, NE; James (Cynthia) Schulte, Crossville, TN; Jerry Schulte, Anaheim, CA; Debbie (Frank) Willert, Portland, OR; Kris (Steve) Christianson, Lincoln, NE; Jeff (Sue) Voracek, Minneapolis, MN; Kelly (Joe) Sparks, Yankton, SD; Jana (Deb Eastman) Voracek, Lincoln, NE; and Jason (Meghan) Voracek, Seneca, KS. She is also survived by many grand, grand-grand and grand-grand-grand nieces and nephews.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters: Ruth Wedmore, Joyce Kirschenman, Jean Schulte and Phyllis Voracek, her brothers-in-law: Elton Kirschenman, Albert Schulte and Roy Voracek and her nephews: Frank Schulte and John Schulte.

Honorary pallbearers are all of Fern’s friends.
