Florence Jane Hauck, age 100 passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Menno-Olivet Care Center, Menno, SD.  Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Salem Reformed Church, Menno, SD with Rev. Florence Jane Buechler Hauck was born on a farm southeast of Scotland on February 2, 1924, to Edmond and Johanna (Deutscher) Buechler. She was baptized on April 20, 1924, at the Scotland Congregational Church by Hugo Bauman and was confirmed in July 1939, at Bethany Reformed Church by U. Zogg.

She attended rural schools and graduated from Scotland High School in 1942. She then attended Southern State Teachers College, after which she taught in several rural schools.

Florence was united in marriage to Raymond A. Hauck on May 4, 1947. Together they farmed southeast of Menno until they retired in 1983. To this union one daughter, Marlys, was born.

Florence was a member of Salem Reformed Church. She was active in the women of the church and a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Florence’s greatest enjoyment was her family, friends, and especially her granddaughter, Carrie Jo Fenner Oster.

She liked to read, sew, quilt, and garden. Her favorite flower was gladiolus. She enjoyed raising them and shared them on Sunday morning church services.

Florence is survived by her daughter Marlys (Alan) Fenner of Menno, SD and granddaughter Carrie (Zach) Oster of Whitewater, WI, brothers and sisters in law Arlena Hauck, Don and Joann Frasch, Verlyn Hauck, Marilee Hauck, Larry and Marilyn Hauck, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Johanna Buechler, husband Ray Hauck on October 26, 1995, brother Orville Buechler, nephew Lynn Buechler and niece Marcy Eng.
