LARSON FLORENCE

Florence Larson, age 91, of Canistota, SD and formerly of Mission Hill, SD passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society, Canistota, SD.

Flo was born August 3, 1928 to Otto and Margaret Peterson. She was raised on a farm near Westerville Store and attended school in rural Wakonda. She married Alvin Larson and they raised their 4 children in Mission Hill. Flo worked at the Human Services Center for many years as a cook. She then went on to work for Sacred Heart Monastery where she took great joy cooking and baking for the Sisters. It was always a pleasure to drop by Flo's house for a visit. She was well known for her many types of baked goods and you knew you would always have something waiting for you. You would never leave her house without some type of goodie to enjoy later.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children Linda Bier, Firestone, Colorado, Tom (Pat) Larson, Sioux Falls, SD, Mike (Kathy) Larson, Homedale, Idaho and daughter- in-law Linda Larson, Durham, NC. Grandchildren Chad, Tonya, Amy, Kim, Erik and Harry; 11 great grandchildren and a sister Opal (Bob) South, Sioux Falls, SD.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry, grandson Shawn, three sisters, Bernice Charrlin, Margie Kibble, and Helen David, and three brothers, Harold, Stuart and Richard.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Good Samaritan Society in Canistota, SD for the kind and compassionate care she was given.
