James A. Donohoe

April 13, 1936 — August 23, 2018

James was born April 13, 1936 in Yankton to Francis and Ruth (Moore) Donohoe.  He went to Sacred Heart Catholic grade school and Yankton High.  He then went to St. John's University in Minnesota and Law School at the University of Chicago.

He married Joyce Heimes of Wynot, NE on June 18, 1960. (He married well.).  They moved to Dallas, Texas in 1963 where he began his law practice.  They had two children:  Michael Donohoe and Ann Donohoe King.  He enjoyed and loved his in-laws, Linda Donohoe and Chris King and his grandchildren:  Nick Donohoe, Matt Donohoe, Katherine King and Allison King.

He maintained strong ties to Yankton and developed land that had been the family farm into-residential housing. He and Joyce spent many wonderful summers in Yankton.  The friendships they maintained over the years are treasured.  His big voice and hearty laugh will be missed.
