Julie Ann Bright, age 63 of Tabor, SD passed away Tuesday, September 05, 2017 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD.  Funeral services are pending with the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, SD.  As per her wishes there will be no local services, however, her cremated remains will be scattered by her family in Alaska at a later date.  The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, SD is assisting with service details.  On-line condolences may be sent at: www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.

Julie Ann (Benkusky) Bright 63, passed away Tuesday September 5th 2017 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD.

Julie was born to William and Wilma (Beeken) Benkusky on June 22, 1954 in Sidney, NE. Her early life was spent in and around Sidney where she met Myron Richey. Julie and Myron married on August 11, 1968 and had two boys Jeffery and Joseph. Later in life Julie married Aaron Bright and gained the love of 2 daughters Destiny Solberg and Nickie McCormick.

Julie graduated college at Western Nebraska Community College with a 4.0 GPA and majored in Art. She was a talented woman who could cook her way into your heart and craft her way into your soul. She enjoyed photography, genealogy and her grandbabies.

She is survived by her two sons Jeff (Amanda) Richey of Tabor, SD, Joe (Miranda) Richey of Yankton, SD, Destiny (Heath) Solberg of Hemmingford, NE and Nickie McCormick of Alliance, NE, Niece Jessica (Tyler) Beck of Omaha, NE,  Nephews Daniel (Rachelle) Benkusky of Valparaiso, NE, Chris (Amanda) Benkusky of Wahoo, NE and her 12 grandbabies

Later in life Julie found herself as manager of the American Legion post 5 in Seward, AK. Where she acquired many friends and considered most family.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents William and Wilma Benkusky and her brothers Danny and Ray Benkusky.

Julie was the best mother a child could have and wise mentor to many. She will be deeply missed.
