LaVonne Jones, 68, of Yankton passed away peacefully Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Friday August 8, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton. LaVonne’s funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday August 9 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton. Burial will be at the Yankton Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.okfhc.com . LaVonne Jones was born on June 19, 1957, to Leslie and Margaret (Sparks) Limoges. LaVonne cherished her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed creating memories with her family and always wanted to make sure her kids and grandkids were happy.  She loved cooking, and all of those lucky enough to sample her meals knew how great she was in the kitchen. At one time, she was on a mission to find the best recipe for every dish.

LaVonne spent the majority of her younger years in Alcester. She graduated from Alcester high school and attended college at Mount Marty. She met the love of her life when he asked her to dance, and the rest was history. They were married in Yankton SD. They resided in Santee, NE, where she worked for the Santee Sioux Tribe. In 1987, they moved to Yankton to raise their family.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Harold “Peewee” Jones; her children Willie (Andrea) Jones, Bobby Jones, Brittany (Kurt) Edwards; grandchildren, Cameron, Krayton, Addison, Asher, Grayson, and Everly; siblings, Mike (Mary) Limoges, Dave (Carla) Limoges, Pam Limoges, Joe (Jeanne), Teresa (Todd) Embrock, Patty (Bill) Ford, Deb (Barclay) Bristow, Katherine Limoges and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Margaret, one sibling Dan Limoges, two nieces and one great niece.
