Lorene Schultz

Lorene Schultz, age 84 of Brookings, SD and formerly of rural Freeman, SD passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at United Living Community, Brookings, SD.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel in Menno, SD with the Rev. Michael Hecht officiating. Burial will follow in the Freeman City Cemetery, Freeman, SD. Visitation will be for one hour prior to service time at the Memorial Chapel. Lorene Schultz was born in Freeman, SD to Fred and Mary Schultz on July 16, 1937. After leaving her parents' home, she lived at the SD Developmental Center in Redfield, SD. In 2001, she made her home at the United Living Community in Brookings, SD. She made known her love of coffee to everyone. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the center as they were truly a family to Lorene this past 20 years.

Lorene is survived by her brother, Amos (Geraldine) Schultz, of Menno, SD and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Schultz, her sisters, Tabea (Wilbert) Schaeffer and Ruth (Ernie) Fisher.
