Noverna D. Herr

Noverna D. Herr, age 90 of Menno passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center, Menno.

Noverna Deloris Herr was born June 26, 1925 to Emil E .and Otilda (Gramm) Reiner. She was baptized July 1925 by Rev. Krueger and confirmed on April 30, 1939 by Rev. K. J. Stuebbe in Tripp, SD at the Freedom Reformed Church.

Noverna went to grade school at the Rublin School in the county of Bon Homme and to Tripp High School. On July 20, 1943, she married Edmund Herr by Rev. Grether. They were married 72 years. Their union was blessed with three sons: Delven, Delray and Glen.

Noverna belonged to Peace Christian Reformed Church of Menno and enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Aid and Bible Study. She was a housewife and store clerk at Ed’s Food Market for 24 years. She enjoyed making quilts and afghans for her family and grandchildren. Due to failing health, Noverna entered the Menno-Olivet Care Center January of 2007 and resided there until her death.

Noverna is survived by her three sons: Delven (Barbara) of Bristol, IN, Delray of Keystone Heights, FL and Glen (Janet) of DeRidder, LA; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Meta Herr of Tripp, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund; parents and two brothers, Arland and Delmer.
