Patricia Lou Kruse, age 80, of Yankton, SD passed away late Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7 PM rosary followed by a video tribute and memory sharing. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren.

Pat was born on May 6, 1935 to Harland and Minnie (Fowler) McManigal in Sioux City, IA. On March 31, 1957 she married John F. Kruse at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Avera Sister James Nursing Home which she took great pride in. Among some of her hobbies, she loved her flowers and had her Iris garden on the front page of the Press and Dakotan. She also loved crafting, crocheting, knitting and picnicking. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Pat is survived by her five children: Michael H. Kruse, Brenda (Scott) Aase, Vince (Marcie) Kruse, and Donald (Sandy) Kruse, all of Yankton, SD and Richard (Kathy) Kruse of Kansas City, MO; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Kastner of Bismarck, ND, two brothers, Jack McManigal of Omaha, NE and Arthur McManigal of Richmond, IN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Kruse, two sons, Patrick and John J. Kruse, her parents, Harland and Minnie McManigal and a sister, Pauline LaScala.
