Ramona J. Adams, age 53, of Yankton, SD passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Yankton, with Rev. Dave Wildermuth officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, and then one hour prior to the service at the church. Honorary Urn Bearers are Rod Frazier, Jeff Knoll and her Grandchildren.
She was born on September 19, 1959 in Eveleth, MN to Andrew and Dorthy (Diede) Holzwarth. She was welcome home by two sisters and two brothers. In August, 1962 the family moved back to Sioux Falls, SD where she attended Sioux Falls schools and graduating from Washington High in 1978. She worked for a pet groomer in Sioux Falls, SD. The job she like most was working at Avera Sister James Care Center. She was employed there for 26 years when she had to quit due to her battle with cancer.
The loves of her life were her husband, Robert, of 27 years, her dogs, cats and horses. She was a member and volunteered many hours at Heartland Humane Society, Yankton, SD.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Yankton, SD; two sisters, Ella May Kelly of Sioux Falls, SD, and Betty (Fred) Helmich of Lawton, IA; two brothers, Allen (Mary) Holzwarth of Littleton, CO, and Don (Diane Lund) Holzwarth of Minnetonka, MN; three stepsons: Robert Adams of Yankton, SD, Richard (Michelle) Adams of Mission Hill, SD, and Roger Adams of Yankton, SD; six grandchildren: Ryan, Tyler, Hailey, Cristian, Derek, and Ean, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Holzwarth on January 12, 1982 and Dorthy Holzwarth on January 31, 2010, and her brother-in-law, Dale Kelly in December 2009.
