Richard Wayne Clark, age 67, of Yankton, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Yankton with Rev. Dave Lund and Rev. Dani Jo Ninke officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories with military graveside rites by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post # 791 Honor Guard, Yankton and the SDARNG Honor Guard, Sioux Falls, SD. Visitations will begin at 5PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7PM Prayer service and video tribute. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are: Bill Larson, Wayne Trudeau, Randy Larson, Chase Brummer, Cole Brummer, and Mark McCurry. Honorary pallbearers are Doug and Linda Larson and all of his golf buddies. Richard was born November 23, 1945 in Vermillion, SD to Dale and Esther (Winnie) Clark. He went to USD after graduation, until he ran out of money. In September 1965, he went into the Air Force Intelligence, and after Intelligence school, he went to SAC headquarters at Offutt in Omaha, then to Seventh Air Force headquarters in Saigon Viet Nam. Upon returning stateside, he went to the bomb and missile wing intelligence section at Minot AFB. Dick left the service in September 1969 and went to work for A. B. Dick Products Co. in Sioux City, IA as a graphic arts salesperson. In 1973, he was made sales manager. In 1975, he married Karen Fast, the love of his life and adopted her daughter, Lisa. In 1976, he started buying stock in A. B. Dick going from one office to ten offices. In July 1993, God blessed Dick and Karen with a daughter, Courtney, who is currently attending USD. In June 2011, he sold A. B. Dick. Dick and Karen continued to work part time for Century Business Products. Dick will be remembered by family and friends for his compassionate nature to lend a helping hand to those in need. He enjoyed the game of golf and spent a great deal of time working on lowering his handicap. Family was always his first priority and he touch many lives. Dick is survived by his wife, Karen of Yankton, SD; daughters, Lisa (Dave) Leyden of Yankton, SD and Courtney of Yankton, SD; grandchildren, Chase Brummer and Cole Brummer; brother, Frank Clark of Richardson, TX and sister, Wilma Haney of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Dorothy, Georgia, Jean and Mary Ann, brother, Billy Dale, and mother and father-in-law.
