After a 14-year battle, our pancreatic cancer warrior, Robert "Bob" Willcockson laid down his purple sword on Sunday, October 15, 2023 and is now at peace. No services are planned at this time.
Bob was born and raised in Yankton. He attended the University of Oregon where he studied history. Bob then moved back to Yankton where he met Lisa. The two fell in love at Yankton College and later married in 1984. Throughout his life, Bob was a voracious reader and loved to share his knowledge of history and current events. He was also an avid golfer, hunter, and Oregon Ducks fan. Bob worked at First Dakota National Bank as a broker for 30 years. He loved supporting his clients and ensuring their financial well-being.
In his most impactful roles, Bob was a husband and a father. He supported, encouraged, and loved his family fiercely. Those fortunate enough to know Bob saw him beam when speaking of his wife and sharing his childrens’ accomplishments. In 2023, Bob became a grandfather to two grandbabies. He called the experience “humbling” and was grateful to have met his grandson and granddaughter.
Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lisa, his two children, Alexandra (John) and Briana (Brandon), and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Yankton United Way, Yankton Junior Achievement, or the Mayo Clinic Pancreatic Cancer Early Detection Program in Bob’s honor.
