Rosemary Vlasak

Rosemary Vlasak, age 66 of Phoenix, AZ and formerly of Lesterville, SD passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Dobson Home Hospice of the Valley in Chandler, AZ. Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel in Tabor, SD beginning at 5 PM with the wake at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lesterville, SD at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2017. Rosemary was born to Gabriel and Evelyn (Wagner) Borszich in May, 1950. She loved music and to dance. If polka music was playing, you could count on her being on the dance floor. Making cards and sending fun mail was always on her mind. Rose was a people person. Most of her working life she was a retail manager or associate. She loved to talk to the customers and they reciprocated. They would often come to her checkout line because of the rapport they developed. She cared for others and spent many years volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and making home visits. She was a mom to all of the young people she met.

She is survived by Dave, her husband of 47 years; daughter, Timaree Murphy; son, Michael (Racquel) and grandchildren, Joshua and Marissa. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary (Harold) Schenkel, Carol (Gary) Erlandson, Robert (Donna) Borszich, Jan (Joe) Fejfar, Jean (William) Lapour and Donna Diede, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Timothy Murphy.
