MEYERS RUBY FAYE

Ruby Faye Meyers, age 80 of Yankton, SD passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton.

Ruby was born April 4, 1936, to Howard and Ruby (Andersen) Van Hoozen in Sayre, Oklahoma.

On July 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Jack Raymond Meyers, Sr. and to this union four children were born: Connie, Debbie, Dianna, and Jack, Jr. Ruby worked in the potato fields in California for many years. The family then moved to Yankton, SD in 1960. She then worked at Dale Electronics for eight years and then worked at Gurney Seed and Nursery for many years. After Gurneys, she stayed at home and babysat her grandchildren. She also did flower gardening as she loved plants and flowers.

Ruby loved her family and her grandkids. The time they spent together was very precious to her. Also dear to her were her dogs: Snowflake and Lola.

Those who will always cherish her memory forever are: Connie (Mike) Cuka, of Dakota City, NE, Debbie Kessler of Kellyville, OK, Dianna (Mike) Bovero of Mission Hill, SD, and Jack Jr. (Diane) Meyers of Yankton, SD; twin sisters Patsy Durret and Geneva (BB) Threlkild of Winchester, CA; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, Sr.; her parents, Howard and Ruby; and brothers: Jack, Clyde, Billy, and Howard, Jr.
