Sherwin Tieszen

Sherwin Dale Tieszen, age 81, of Lesterville, SD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by family. Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.okfhc.com .

A devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandpa, Sherwin is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his children Troy (Crystal), Scott, Michelle (Ben), and Patrick; his cherished grandchildren Andrew, Lincoln, Miles and Riely (Devon); his sister Linda (Cliff); and his nieces Wendy and Lenae. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Edwin Tieszen.

Sherwin found great joy in the simple moments of life-especially in watching and listening to his grandchildren play.  Their laughter and energy brought him deep happiness and peace.  He also enjoyed his cats, Cautious and Curious, who already miss their cuddle time with him.

He will be remembered for his warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family.  His presence brought comfort and his legacy lives on through those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Sherwin’s life.
