Susan Matthew

Susan (Knutson) Matthew, age 71, of Yankton, SD passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. A graveside committal service will take place at Union Cemetery, rural Wakonda, at a later date. Online condolences may be sent at www.okfhc. Susan Knutson was born March 16, 1954 at Igloo, South Dakota to Merle and Barbara (Stafford) Knutson. She grew up and attended Gayville-Volin Public School graduating in 1972. After high school Susan attended Springfield College. She worked various bookkeeping jobs over the years including many years at Mount Marty College.

Susan loved animals, especially horses and her dog Mindy. She also enjoyed crafting.

Survivors include one brother Wayne Knutson of Volin, SD; three sisters, Tami (Roger) Jueden of Yankton, Janet (Jim) Lewis of Maine, Charlotte (Ron) Jensen of Minnesota; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Edith Johnson, one nephew Craig Harris, and her beloved dog Mindy.
