SCHRAMM THOMAS RICHARD

Thomas Richard Schramm, age 74 of Yankton, SD passed away unexpectedly at his home early Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

Tom was born December 18, 1944 in Yankton, SD to Arthur and M. Margaret (Schneider) Schramm, the youngest of ten children.  He married Beverly Vanorny on August 7, 1968 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lesterville, SD.  He served in the National Guard, farmed near Utica, SD and worked for Sapa for a number of years.  In retirement, he was the Yankton County Weed Supervisor for several years and enjoyed working on his cousin’s farm.

Tom loved to hunt with his sons, play golf, restore Ford Tractors and played softball in his early years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Tri-State Old Ironside Association.

Tom is survived by his wife, Beverly of Yankton, SD; four children:  Paul of Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer of Chaska, MN, Stewart (Lynnelle) of Harrisburg, SD; Greg (Abby) of Byron, MN; four grandchildren:  Braeden, Carson, Beckett and Stella Schramm and four siblings:  Barbara (Alton) Bertschinger of Hill City, SD, Sister Arthur Schramm of Yankton, SD. William (Marlene) Schramm of Yankton, SD and Elizabeth (David) Walker of Sioux Falls, SD.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Donald and three sisters:  Helen, Mary Leone and Mercedes.
