Wakiyan Ob Iyiya
Travis Gilpin, age 49, of Santee, Nebraska, made his journey Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at his home in Santee. Visitations will be at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center in Santee on Friday August 14, Saturday Augst 15 and Sunday August 16. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Monday, August 17 at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center in Santee. Burial will follow at the Congregational Cemetery in Santee. Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Travis was born on August 18, 1976 to Nathaniel L. Gilpin Sr. and JoAnne L. (RedOwl) Gilpin in Creighton, Nebraska.
Travis enjoyed his pow wow music, fishing, being with his friends and family and spending time with his beloved dog “Bago” and his Good Jody.
Travis is survived by his wife, Tiffany Gilpin of Santee, Nebraska; Siblings, Nadine (Virgil) LaPointe of Columbus, Nebraska, Michelle (James) Saul of Santee, Nebraska, Thomas Trooper James Jr. (Deana) of Santee, Nebraska, Nathaniel Gilpin Jr. (Teresa) of Wabeno, Wisconsin, Josephine Gilpin of Green Bay, Wisconsin; daughters, Margaret Blackbird and Mayla Grant of Sioux City, Iowa; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Nate and JoAnne Gilpin; brothers, Tyler Gilpin and Adam Gilpin; sisters, Deanna (James) Keeble and Teresa James; niece Veronica Keeble; grandparents Francis Gilpin Sr, Josephine Gilpin, Ambrose RedOwl Sr. and Lucille Taylor RedOwl.
